Holiday Thinking...

Holidays!  and they are coming!

One some folks call a holiday is here today... but I am the scrooge of Halloween! So I will not go there.

Then Thanksgiving & Christmas are next. And my good "right hand" named Bud,  is NOT functioning too well. Can't bend, twist or lift anything. What a bummer that is!!  It is amazing how in no time flat we can take our lives for granted and not really think about or appreciate what someone else does for us / with us.

My grocery carrier, my garbage man, my 'cooker' helper, shopper extraordinaire, and so many other things too!

Not sure what this holiday will bring us.. my man sees his doctor AFTER Thanksgiving. So it will be wait and see.. He is moving more, and chomping at the bit to get released to do "whatever."  I know how boring this has been for me (who is happy to stay at home)
for him (who is OUT and Going most every day) it has got to be more awful!

But time will tell, and it is one day at a time..
Right??   I never get in a hurry about anything really.. Mom & Bud used to really fuss at Me & Dad Gulley.. ha ha ha But we still got it done!  Ah such memories.

And I don't need a "holiday" set aside to be Thankful & grateful. That is an every day thing when I think of my Lord and the blessings that have  befallen my life & my family. Some of even the rotten stuff has turned out for my good. I have MUCH to be thankful for, MUCH to praise the Lord for too, and not enough good fingers to type it all here.

And as for Christmas.. I think often of the Lord coming to earth in obedience to His Father, leaving the glories of heaven, to save the souls of people and me being one. God's gift to us!

And as for Easter.. well we celebrate Resurrection Sunday... every Sunday and there too, I remember our Lord's death on the cross, again in obedience to His Father and because of His great love for us.. to do for us what we could not do for ourselves, and offer us His free gift of salvation at great cost, his life's blood and pain, our gain.  Ours for the taking!!  What love!  My sin debt paid in full!! Yes, more often than not, during the week these things come to mind all year long...

I heard it said that someone desired Christmas should go on all year long.. not bad. The loving and giving spirit of it all..
Tho myself, I would prefer the Loving, Giving, Soul saving meaning, salvation's availability and thoughts of Easter would go on All year long... sharing that with the world around us...
Magnifying (making much of) the Lord and the salvation He has provided... for ALL the world.

Food For Thought is it not?
