Happy Thanksgiving... well for a lot.. it is.. Families gathering, plenty of good food and much laughter. "Sharing" the best parts of ourselves & and life. With so many relatives and kids and such, Jessica *designated* Thanksgiving to be our holiday. How good is that! Clever Girl!
For me, I am ailing and keeping my germs at home this year. Here it is quiet, and sort of lonely, Soooo, in the quiet my mind begins to wander...
Then I feel for those that have to search for a bit of thankfulness and fun, because of the loss of loved ones... losing a home... having to start over... deserted & ignored by people they love, & who would so desire to be in their lives.
For those going thru loss... Accent the Positive.. remember the good times & years you had. Others were not fortunate to have people for a long time in some instances. Having lost one parent at 31, a tiny nephew at 2 we never saw what he could have been, a dad & brother in early 60's .. that's way younger than I expected and my list could go on... maybe yours could too.
BUT .. I choose to Accent the Positive, and try to honor their memories by "dwelling on the good fine things in them" and make them proud of my life choices, and mourn with those that mourn. There are many ways to mourn I've found after all my years.
To those that have lost homes and etc.. Be thankful we live in a land where the country & churches make efforts to help provide places & things for us. A land where we can pull our selves up and *pursue* our happiness.
Life truly is nothing but a series of *Start Overs,* from the day we are born... we either are forced to make a new start OR we Choose to make a "new" starts... Let's make'em good! Be thankful for the opportunities afforded us, and be grateful. Again.. Accent the Positive
I think the shunned, those being excluded by family & those you love is the hardest & most hurtful thing to get over, or to live with... I don't feel as bad for the shunned as I do for those that are ignoring them. Yeah! Really!
It is hard to find a way to Accent the Positive there... cause you must look hard for it. It is easy to cry about what we expected hoped for and that which we were told would happen, but never came to fruition.
How do you ignore people? Easy... harden your heart, be selfish, and refuse to be a part of someones life.
I feel for those that do that & more than, those that are the ignored... yes.. those doing the ignoring are the ones that are missing out on ohhh so much.
We the ignored know who we are, and what we have to give, and share, and would sooo love to do.
We also know that we are not perfect... but who is?
Our loss is much... but yours is going to be much more in time to come. Wasted years & missed time, missed shared events and family history.
So to you, the ignored ones... Come take a walk down *Start over path* with us all, and make a fine new world.
Give to those that will accept your gifts, time, laughter, quirky ways, our sharing etc.. There is much room in the heart now because of those that have walked away... fill it with the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart in the end... and your cup will run over with good things... Be kind to the "ignorers" and others.. as we are moving on up one step higher.. :-)
Save a small corner in your heart, just on the off chance they may wander back, but do not spend time dwelling on the idea.
A New Year is coming.... let it begin today and be ever so Thank full and appreciative to God for what we do have.
Thankful to those of our band, I AM BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE.. and... Am waiting for my Thanksgiving "Care Package" being made up by my girls for dad to bring home for me... Yummy supper on the way.. :-)
